Miriam Conners

Miriam Conners was born and raised in Southern California.  In 1985 she moved to Maine and married James Conners; a native of Bucksport.  Together they have raised a combined family of twelve children;  seven daughters, five sons, and thirteen grandchildren.  One of Miriam’s  favorite sweatshirt reads: "I wasn't born in Maine....but I got here as fast as I could."  Miriam loves living in Maine.

Miriam has served for many years in her church as well as women's, youth, young adult and children's organizations at the local and state level. She has taught provident living and emergency preparedness classes for 13 years.

Her “official” involvement in politics came during the last election cycle, when she was part of the Romney Campaign in Maine, and was disappointed when Romney left the race. Subsequently, Miriam looked around the state for conservative Republican candidates running for office. In Miriam’s words: “I was again disappointed...until I found Dean's website.  That changed everything.”

Miriam has operated her own business for over twenty years. She sees her greatest accomplishment thus far in life as having been an honor to her parents by living her life according to the strong conservative values they instilled. These values have provided the foundation for Miriam’s success and happiness as a wife, mother, neighbor and citizen.

In May 2007, Jeff graduated from Boston University with a bachelors degree in broadcast journalism and a minor in history.

While at BU he was a sports writer for The Daily Free Press, BU's independent student newspaper. There, he wrote about several different sports and in the fall of 2006 was one of the beat writers for the nationally ranked Terrier's women's soccer team. Jeff also helped out on Terrier Nation, a bi-weekly sports broadcast show completed by students which aired on BUTV.

Jeff regrets that his initial interest in politics came about during the Clinton sex scandal but since then he has developed his core conservative principles thanks in large part to his parents and learning about the history of the United States.
